The Pros And Cons of Authority Sites And Minisites

For years the debate has raged over which type of site you should build; mini sites or authority sites. Yet the way Google views these sites and their differences has now come into debate by itself. It seems that mini sites no longer enjoy the favor with Google they once had. The last couple of times Google has updated their ranking algorithms, it seems as though the authority sites are taken more seriously. Obviously, Google is seeking a way to provide more pertinent results to their users. Despite this, a mini site still has its place in your marketing efforts.

Just remember that with minisites, you will be restricted to the lower tier of keyword phrases - the long tail phrases as they are called. While Google generally does not like minisites, people are still making excellent money using them in very specific ways. So what you want to do is plan and research very well. Your choice of keywords will determine whether or not you make money, or not. It is possible to rank number one with a minisite, but keep in mind the traffic volume will be much lower.

Google has made sure that getting a minisite ranked highly is a lot more difficult than it used to be. If you want to do things quickly, including making money, then you will need to go with the minisite model. If you choose an authority site, then you are looking at spending a lot of time for future rewards. That is exactly what it is, and it is an investment of your time and money. It is much like buying large quantities of stocks and holding them for many years. Even though it takes time to rank an authority site, that is ok because the owners are not in a rush to do it. However, people are good with waiting because there are many possibilities with monetizing a highly ranked authority site.

You'll find that it is much easier (and faster) to build credibility with an authority site. There is an effect that a large website with great content has on a visitor. Many people simply make the leap that the person behind the larger site has a larger knowledge base to draw from. For some people, this is all that is needed for credibility to be established. This would be a rare exception to the rule for mini sites. But those tend to be very rare, indeed. Deciding whether to create an authority site or a mini site is one that may come down to how Google ranks different sites in those search results. Mini sites can be great tools for any marketer, but you may find you need to spend more time finding ways to attract traffic. What that means is mini sites still have a purpose in a well rounded marketing plan. However, there are plenty more benefits to be had for creating a larger site as far as organic traffic goes. Perhaps those with a lot of experience are usually the worst when it comes to assuming people know more about what is being discussed than they really do know. Summertime Profits Review can be intimidating for a lot of people if they have never done it in their business, and it cannot be learned quickly and executed with authority.

So it can be assumed that incomplete knowledge on that will exist, and that just complicates the learning process.

This is just part of the nature of online business or even offline for that matter. That is one aspect of internet business that we love; there is always something more that can be learned. That is one reason why people hire mentors or become a part of a marketing group where you can ask those who do have more experience than you.
