Enjoy Success With Adwords By Avoiding These Simple Mistakes

Adwords Campaign - No matter what site you have, what topic it is in, that theme it uses, or what market it targets, Google Adwords is a very simple way to use pay per click marketing to get targeted traffic to your site. Adwords is an amazing business opportunity, but only if done the right way. Unfortunately, if you make too many mistakes, you may lose your entire advertising budget. Pay per click marketing is not a simple as you may think, needless to say it requires lots of time and effort to master it. It will be important to understand what works, so you will need to do some intensive testing to tailor your marketing plan. Even after your campaign takes off, you still need to keep an eye on it. You'll need to test it and tweak it from time to time to keep it fresh, exciting and earning at full capacity. If you want real results, you have to give it continuous attention. Don't let this discourage you. With time, guidance, and effort, anyone can be successful with PPC and be able to get targeted trafic to their site. This article will explain 3 mistakes that you should watch out for, when dealing with Adwords.

1. Targeting Keywords That Are Too Broad

Simply put, when you use common keywords that are very broad, you will simply be losing money and not producing any results. Targeting broad keywords is a sure way to go broke. Let's take the keyword example - "hospital". Generally, people using broad terms like "medical" or "hospital" during a web search are looking for information or fishing for ideas, and aren't really all that interested in buying. Only people who are unsure of their goal will search using those keywords, and they're on their way to some other site. If you want to get good results you have to focus your keyword down to one that goes right along with your offer. If you stick to common keywords, there's no way you can find out if those people are interested in your offer or not, and most of the time, they are not. The keyword "hospital," to use our former example, produces 78,400,000 results in Google, but the narrower term "find a hospital" only has 249,000 results. As you can see, by using a narrower keyword, you will face less competition and only have visitors who are looking for something specific. A person searching with a narrow keyword know what they want to find. Think like your customer. If you were searching for your specific product, what would you type in the search engine?

2) Utilizing Google's Content Network to Display Your Ads

When you are working on your Adwords Strategy, be sure to focus on negative keywords as they can make your ads profitable. The incorporation of negative keywords into your advertising will decrease your expenses, and you will effectively zero in on those individuals who visit the landing page on your website. The way to use negative keywords is to place a minus sign (-) in front of the keyword. Using these words stops them from being seen by untargeted people, and ensure that only those who would be interested in seeing it can find it. There may be keywords related to ones you are using but will have no impact on your advertising. You can eliminate those keywords, keeping only the positive ones that truly relate to your campaign, so that you will more effectively target visitors, increase your conversions and decrease your losses.

3. You didn't continue your focus on your landing page.

Beginning marketers assume that it's better to set their daily budget low when they're starting out, so they have the chance to try out and fine-tune their operation to achieve maximum results. What they don't consider is that a too-low daily budget means their ads won't be shown much, and they won't get enough clicks to effectively test their advertising methods. If you don't have enough data to study your campaign and test it out effectively, a good move is to try and raise your daily budget. This can be lowered later on when you get a clear idea of how the market works.

Top 3 Keyword Factors to Know When Making A Web Page

What are Keywords and how to choose keywords.

Keywords are the words that Internet users type into the "Search" box in their browser. These words tell the search engine what the user is looking for and then the search engines go find websites that would be a good reference for that Internet user and that is what the search engine shows us in the "search results". If you can get your website to show up on page one of the search engines "search results" when someone searches for a particular keyword phrase, that means that you have a Page 1 ranking for that keyword phrase.

1. Keywords should be researched in Google's keyword tool. This way you know whether or not people are searching for the keywords. Often, a keyword phrase we think would be good, is actually not. However, with just a tad bit of effort and research, we see that it's not getting searched for the way we imagined it would. The good thing about Google's Keyword tool is that it will recommend similar words that you can use and tell you how many searches are being done for it. Example:

I just performed a keyword lookup using Google's Keyword Tool for the keyword phrase "Screw driver kit". It sounds like a good keyword to optimize if I sell sets of screw drivers. When researched, we see that it gets 3,600 searches a month globally.

Google's Keyword Tool recommended "screwdriver set" which gets over 33,000 searches. Not only was I using "kit" when I should have used "set", but I was separating the word "screwdriver" into two words "screw driver"¦ which was hurting the results.

Based on what I have gleaned in Google's Keyword Tool, I decide that I will optimize "screwdriver set". Exactly as it appears, because any variations will change the keyword and therefore affect the results of my seo. So, I won't do "sets" plural or anything like that.

2. On-page placement in the code.

This is the web person's job, but if you want to supervise them I'll tell you what they should do. The keywords should go in the following places at the very least:

  1. The title tags - It is most important to put the Keywords here
  2. The Description meta tags. The keywords ought to be at or very near the beginning of the description. The description itself should be kept to under about 170 characters.
  3. The Keywords meta tags. Again, you will want to place the keywords you consider most important at or near the beginning. Don't try to put too many keywords in these meta tags. Keep it to under 10 keywords or keyword phrases if you can.
  4. The Alt tags that are within an images code.

3. On-page placement within the content.

  1. Header tags. These are in brackets and contain "h1" or "h2" or so on... and are usually at the beginning of each section of the page. Don't use the keyword phrase you are optimizing in all of them. Just inserting the keyword phrase into a couple of the headings will be fine.
  2. In about 2% of the content. So, for every 100 words, two should be the keyword phrase (assuming the keyword phrase consist of two words¦)
  3. At the footer of the page, after everything else, put the keyword on the page one last time to really drive home to the search engine that the page is really about the what the keyword is.
  4. Make it Bold - Find a place that you have integrated your keyword phrase into your content and make it bold! Just once, and try not to make anything else bold if you can. This is super minor, but it could be the little thing that pushes you ahead of a competitor.
