Be Wise And Make Good Use Of Your Skills In Internet Marketing

A below-average guitarist playing guitar on B.B. King's signature Lucille guitar is still a below-average guitarist. Why spend big money on expensive basketball shoes if your game isn't even good enough to pass the first round of tryouts for junior varsity?

The same applies for internet marketing. If your copy is bad, not even a zillion ads would save your strategy. You can write all the articles you want, but poorly written articles will be passed over and sent to the trash bin. If you buy the best optimization software available but don't understand the principles and theory behind optimization, you will get no results. If you spend thousands of dollars on inferior business leads, questionable advice, and questionable "Get Rich Schemes", you will get no results.

It is easy for an Internet marketing newcomer to be fooled by any one of the many pieces of advice on marketing techniques. Many of these newbies make the mistake of accepting as much advice as they could to get better results. They would also follow this advice blindly, ending up with poorly written articles, ad copy and poorly optimized sites. The result is that they get no results, they get discouraged, and they give up.

Instead on focusing on the number of tools utilized, it would be better to focus on mastering some rather than trying - and failing at all.

If you lack focus and try to do everything, you will work yourself into exhaustion doing all the wrong things. In marketing, the same applies - you will tire yourself needlessly without incurring much success. That's just the best case - worst case would be unwittingly misleading your customers, and being seen unjustly as a fraudulent Internet businessman.

What's the solution? Don't be a multi-tool player (or marketer, in this case) if you can't hack it - only do what you can according to your skills. If you're a skilled writer, take a break from being the next Stephen King or Stephenie Meyer and focus on writing dynamite traffic-generating blogs instead. If you have sales skills, focus on writing short and catchy sales ads and bar ads. Tech geeks can work on the SEO stuff. You can bombard forums with your links if you're a simple, hard-working man or woman with none of the skills above but a great work ethic. You need to focus on your strengths and work them to your advantage.
