Good and Bad SEO Practices

Both good and bad SEO practices exist. These efforts may otherwise be referred to as White Hat and Black Hat SEO services. This refers to what is ethical and what is not ethical when attempting to improve search engine visibility of a website. White Hat SEO Techniques Usually a reputable SEO company will provide White Hat SEO services. For instance, they will take action needed to help build links for a client slowly and naturally. They will also provide that customer with highly-optimized web pages. When writing content, they will make sure the right keywords are used so that traffic comes to that site. A reputable SEO company will also not spam forums or send unwanted e-mails. When advertising for a client, they use paid venues rather than trying to sneak links in places they should not. They also will not cloak any links for purpose of deception and they never try to hide behind ip addresses unless they have a good reason for doing so. If an SEO Company really wants to help a business succeed, they also will not place duplicate content on that site. Part of providing good SEO services involves checking to make sure that each article, image, video, or tutorial is original. Black Hat SEO Techniques Link cloaking and masking of website domains are very common Black Hat SEO Techniques. This usually is done to try to rank higher in search engines for one set of keywords. Yet, the site may not even actually represent those keywords at all but an entirely different set. Another common technique of SEO Black Hatters is to place nonsense keywords on site pages. They might even hide them in the background so that they are invisible. However, if a website owner is caught doing this they could be severely penalized.
