Search Engine Optimization Training - Preparing Your Staff Appropriately

Build A Team

One of the best analogies or questions I heard years ago was what happens if you spend a great deal of time for the search engine optimization training of your staff and then they leave in six months or weeks time or two weeks time? What happens if they don't leave your SEO company and you haven't trained them at all? That's the bigger problem to have.

You'd rather have trained up people who potentially leave so that the people who stay are a hundred percent trained up exactly on your system. So many people say, oh, they can learn it themselves, but they're not going to learn it themselves. It's an obvious thing in business and people in their mindset think that online is different and don't treat it the same. You've got to spend the time training your outsourcing providers. You have to. It's still your business.

We have prepared a network drive especially to new members of the team. This is an area where everyone can log into. We have got Google Docs and various Lists and Log-ins. In here, we share all information about each of the websites that we are optimizing as well as log-in details and a few personal information.

Systems are next. We have set up systems for the training of our staff. This will help each of them generate trainings as they do it. They will learn about Aweber when it comes to emails. Under SEO services and search engine optimization training, I give them access to The SEO Method. They will learn how to use Audacity when it comes to audio staff. I create culture or system in all parts of my business. This is important in putting a place behind you.

I refrain from creating a business that depends on people. I desire for one that depends on systems. I don't want to have it where this one person has built a little black box about what it is that they do. If it happened that they quit their position, I will be left with nothing to refer a new staff to. Now, I have what is called WorkWiki. I post here my SEO products that can help my staff during their training period. If someone comes in and they say, Dave, I need to prepare that end of day report or I need to know how to invoice STU, I'll say, go watch the video here. I encourage them to do things on their own, but I will review any questions they will have. Then, I will do it with them for clarification purposes. You just have to show them how to do it.

Imagine now in your own situation how much freedom that would give you when you provide your staff proper search engine optimization training rather than you having to show them every single task. You could just point them to the WorkWiki and say, half of your questions are already answered.
